had another try with oil pastel from somebody's oil painting.Obviously the oil pastels were not thick enough to make better effect.Too much "blank" on the picture to me...

Great try, oil pastel on canvas?
Its not easy on this coarse surface, I tried once, doesn't really satisfied too.
